If you’re a loyal seafood lover or just want to try seafood recipes with a twist, then better come by at The Shrimp Shack at Robinsons Place Antipolo!
From the moment you step inside the resto, it will virtually transport you to a tropical beach destination — the sight and scent of palm trees fluorishing along the shoreline and turquoise blue ocean glimmering under the summer sun.
A shack is a type of small, often primitive shelter or dwelling. The Shrimp Shack, which, obviously got its name from the classic US beach house, was clever enough to put an actual shack inside the store! Other details such as ring buoys, vintage hi-way signs, and surf boards hanging on metal panels and rustic white walls are quite an eye-catcher!
Their food offering taps all courses from starters to desserts! This plate of greens is Hawaiian Chicken Salad with Water Chestnuts (Php155). Water Chestnuts are apulid or kastanyas-tubig in Filipino. I’m not really into salads, but I don’t mind devouring this healthy dish! The veggies are served fresh and the dressing is just flavorful, creamy, tangy, and delicious!
This next platter is definitely the best because it’s my favorite (clap! clap! clap!) Shrimp Scampi Spaghetti only for Php230! I cannot grasp the exact words to describe the sauce, but dear, its crazy! I also appreciate that they do not serve overcooked prawns and dry and boring garlic toast! My everdearest Shrimp Shack, I hate you for coming up with this insanely addicting dish! 🙂
On a side note, if in-case you are wondering if the shrimps are shelled in this particular dish — yes they are!! But don’t fret, these shrimps are deveined (the top dark dorsal vein is removed) and the shell along the top are snipped before arriving at your table, for easy peeling!
Shrimp Po-Boy (Php 195) – Shrimp popcorn with remoulade dressing in ciabatta bread. Shrimps are battered and deep-fried for extra crisp!
The Shrimp Shack only uses white shrimps, delivered fresh everyday straight from shrimp farms! This type is low in saturated fats and a good source of Vitamin B12 and Selenium.
And for the finale, the greatest trickster plate in the menu- Pineapple Upside Down Cake (Php175)! I admit, it wasn’t love at first sight for this sweetheart! I almost hesitated to take a bite initially, because it looked dry, coarse, and too sweet for me! But as they say, never judge a book (in this case, a cake!) by its outside appearance! To my surprise, it was so moist, and each piece bursts a plethora of good flavors in my mouth! In short, I was blown away!
I have a big appetite for seafoods especially for crustaceans and having discovered this amazing all-seafood resto was like finding watermelons in the month of June! So, if you want to have a taste of summer everyday, even during the rainy days — visit The Shrimp Shack at Robinsons Place Antipolo!
