It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon when my husband and I arrived at the food tasting event of Manila Catering Services held at the very luscious and beautifully landscaped garden of Gazebo Royale.
Mr. Herks Umali, Operations Manager of Manila Catering who was very warm and friendly, ushered us in our table situated in the very spacious Champagne Hall. It was big enough to accommodate perhaps, 200-800 guests (or more) just for a single event.
The hall is surrounded by a scenic landscape of greens and man-made waterfalls, fountains, and ponds, where brightly colored and interestingly patterned schools of koi are growing abundantly.
Half of the stunning Champagne Hall was occupied by Manila Catering‘s striking display of stylish reception themes where each table set up was put-together so fashionably! Every color, adornment, utensil, linen, plate, and even the littlest detail were symphonized accordingly.
One thing that I liked most about Manila Catering is creativity. They see to it that the reception is as unforgettable as the ceremony. According to Mr. Umali, what they had exhibited were just “a few” of the themes they offer for the clients. They also create and/or personalize reception depending upon the client’s desire and preference.
Manila Catering was established in 1989. From the first day up to the present, they’ve always been true and loyal to their mission and that is to “provide quality in every detail“. For almost 25 years in the food and beverage industry, Manila Catering has catered in various banquets and commissaries, and also as concessionaires for Air Asia and Cebu Pacific Airlines. It has received accreditation from various food and health institutions like the Bureau of Quarantine, Food and Drug Administration, and Halal Development Institute.
They value food safety and quality standard that’s why Manila Catering is also recognized by the Department of Trade and Industry and Philippine Quality Challenge of DTI’s Center for Industrial Competitiveness.
Manila Catering is offering an expansive menu, covering all courses from appetizer down to dessert. To tell you honestly, their dishes are unique and I don’t see them served often in gatherings. Let me give you just a few samples of these:
Salad Station: Tri-colored pasta salad with bell peppers, grilled chicken and Russian Salad
Pasta Bar: Pastas (Angel Hair/Penne/ Spaghetti) and Sauces (Spaghetti Sauce/ Creamy Pesto/ Carbonara) (Yummy!)
Fish: Pepper Crusted Fish with Mixed Citrus Beurre Blanc
Chicken: Chicken Parmesan and Chicken Teriyaki (Another personal favorites!)
And the best of them all, my favorite thing in this world next to pizza – dessert!
Carrot cake bars, cream puffs, brownies overload, eclairs, fresh fruit compotes with orange mint syrup.
And for reservations of 150 persons and above, they give options for complementary services such as: chocolate fountain or fruit punch fountain set up with parasols and fruits in season, cocktails, popcorn bar, and THIS —
S’mores bar! That was my first encounter of an actual S’mores bar in a reception. What a clever idea! I had fun roasting my marshmallows and making my own s’mores!
So, if you are planning or organizing an upcoming wedding, debut, or any other events, Manila Catering deserves a spot in your list! After my Manila Catering Grand Tasting experience, I felt a little sad not knowing them ahead when I was organizing my own wedding back in 2005.
Manila Catering’s menu is packed with so many yummy dishes, and on a personal note, I love the fact that their list is unconventional. They always have something new to offer aside from the usual “pansit“, “menudo” or “calderata.” Please don’t get me wrong, I love these Pinoy party food staples to bits! However, my palate needs a breather once in a while. 🙂
Reception is equally important as the ceremony, especially in weddings! It’s either you make it or break it! Leave a good impression or forever be criticized and remembered by your guests for the worst food they’ve eaten! So bother to invest on it. Not really in terms of money but of quality.
If you’re trying to minimize your wedding expenses, Manila Catering is open in modifying their services to fit within a budget without compromising quality. So whether you are running a lux wedding or a simple one, your dream wedding is just within your reach.
